I find this to be a clever ad for Heinz Ketchup for a couple reasons. The firs thing I notice is that the forground color is the same as the background Red... but it works even without a solid line between the two. just by looking at it you can recognize that you are looking at the bottom of a glass ketchup bottle. and to go with Hinze's theme they kept it all red other than their signature white label with green border. which they brought that green into the bottle as a tomato stem which give the slight hint that the round bottle shape is a tomato just picked from the vine and onto your table.

Scuba Steve here!! This is a very clever Idea. This is not advertizing a product or anything. This is a very clever piece of work where you take an every day object and make it into something completely different. also making none eye pleasing equipment look cool. The best part about this I think is that most of the time you see something like a fire extinguisher on the wall, even though it is bright red you seem to look over it and not even notice so when there is a fire and you need to find one you cant recall where it was on what wall. but I guarantee you that if you see something like this you will remember exactly where it is when you need it.
I first want to say I have been doing this for years before Coke every came out with this. I tend to put lemons in most of my sodas. This uses Cokes classic typeface from their logo but with a twist of a lemon peal. It is very clear that it is a peal from a lemon and works well enough you really don't have to look at the can on the bottom right to read it says with lemon on it. I do feel it is smart to have both on this piece to help counter balance each other as well as brand the look of the can so when you go to the store you van recognize it better than if they would have just put their logo.

Car advertizements. I always come across great ads for vehicles (usual Jeep tends to be my favorite) but this one is great as well. This ad is for Land Rover and is talking about how it has more pull power. It catches your eye due to the unbalance of the piece with a plane white clean side next to the crumbled side as the car is pulling it. by using a simple design it makes the feel of the vehicle appear to pull something massive with no struggle at all. I also enjoy the blue border at the bottom to incorporate the year and the logo.

This ad will catch the attention of any and all dog/animal lovers. I have a dog and every time I fill up his dog bowl he has a similar reaction with his tail wagging 100mph. I find it very clever that they made the tail look like a helicopter blade and the dogs back half being lifted up in the air as he devoured down on the Purina Dog food. Again this is a great advertisement with getting the message a crossed on how great their product is with no text other than the brand name.

Now that we are in the digital age, everything is done digital, including finding that special someone by using online dating sites. I found this very clever piece used by parship.com. It represents women on one side with men on the other and with the help of the Parship tab they will make that perfect alignment or connection between the both of you. the drop shadow allows for the icons to pop out and with the use of silver it really makes it look like an actual zipper. this design is so well done it might actually work as a functioning zipper for a clothes line?

As I get older I started doing what I never thought I would: Drink coffee. and I feel that it advertisement hit it right on the nose on why we tend to drink coffee in the morning, and throughout the day for that matter. The coffee cup represents an on and off know insinuating that with there full cup of coffee it will turn you on/ wake you up for the day. I am a huge fan of the simplicity with the background being black with some white radiating off the cup also using whit for the typefaces and logo to tie it all together.

This reminded me of our first project in class we did with the billboard. This really caught my eye because I think we have all been in a situation like this where you realize after the fact that there is no toilet paper or you used the rest but still need more. Its kind of a gross thing to think about but that is what makes you remember more by putting the visual image in your head. Also the fact that it is in 3D also catches the eye. This says everything you need it to say without using words. with the exception of the brand on the bottle.

This is the cover of Cartoons weekly. The biggest thing I really enjoy about this cover is the Title. It really sets the two ideas of cars and cartoons together. The most obvious is the dramatic color change from red to black to separate car. After that was established the other details ad more emphasis with the flames coming out of the "exhaust" and the two tires for the o's. as for the rest of the cover i fell that placement is working well filling up the space but also keeping it open and simple. the one issue I would have to comment on is the text " New cartoon caption contest". It feels very tight between the truck and the margin and even the last letters overlapping the truck making it hard to read.
This is the June edition for Marketing Magazine. The four color (plus black and white) illistration really popped out at me. It is very simple buildings in the back with a little more detailed man in the foreground which gives the illusion of depth. It also has a cool affect of the letters trailing off him suggesting bits from the digital computer age. all of the type is at the top of the magazine to not disrupt the illustration which is nice but I think that the wording might be long. However it is all separated by different colors that where sampled from the illustration that helps break it down to be more manageable to read.

I remember always reading National Geographic as a kid, it was one of my favorite. The covers are always the same yellow border that goes around the edge so you can spot it in a library a mile away. but now that you are looking at the stack of magazines this one sticks out above the rest because they did something different and removed the bottom yellow edges. they could have still done the same effect while keeping the border but I love that they chose not too it adds so much more effect when its not the norm. just like the statue of liberty being under water, it adds the allusion of the water filling up more.

This is an issue of esquire magazine, and as the top suggest I think the cover of this issue is fantastic. Mainly because it is different than most covers you see where there is a type treatment that is more clean straight and aligned. This cover I would say is in the middle of that and graffiti but is its own style which always catches my attention.Even though there is a lot going on the colors of blues calm this piece down and draws everything together.

This is a cover from ESPN I found that has Michael Phelps on the cover. Half is photo while the rest is illustrated and I thought i was an amazing job of the two put together and the inner workings. the background is blue with splashes that relate to his swimming carer that is also seen in his body along with the colors red white and blue representing America.  Even tho his head cuts off the P in the title it does not effect this peice because of the well know and distinct typeface used of ESPN. another really interesting feature is the use of color in the title that becomes very natural when using white between each color that calms it down. I feel like this piece is very well balanced all around.

This is the cover of the TagCom Magazine for 2013. I found this cover very visually appealing the dark color of blue in the background that gets lighter around the bottle with the light coming down from the ceiling You can almost feel the glass exploding off of the red bottle and the detail of the "smoke makes it feel very cold and chilly which makes it feel like a very refreshing drink

In my opinion, one of the best ways to get someone to remember something is by being creative. the above three pictures are great examples of this. the top one is a billboard with a light pole in the way. to most people this would be a horrible spot to advertize, but the creator of this ad used it to better his ad as wee see a car crashing into it. this not only draws in people attention for being clever but also ads a 3 denominational effect along with it. the next one is Micky D's here they use the reflection of the glass background to complete the logo. (although this may only be possible with well know logos due to the effect being lost in the day time) and the last one i thought was the most creative by using the anchor rope from the ship to look as if a noodle. this gives me inspiration to use preexisting elements with the advertizements them self to have them stand out more than the others that may be around them.
